The Sheriff’s Office cannot access a locked vehicle unless it is during the course of enforcing the law or if there is reason to believe that not accessing the vehicle can result in injury or could be life threatening. If keys have been locked in a vehicle, the owner will have to contact one of the local towing companies in the county.

In Custer County, you can get a driver’s license from 08:00 to 17:00 hours at the Courthouse Annex Building located next to the Library at 447 Crook Street in Custer, SD the first three Wednesdays of each month.
